Cartoon Craziness Challenge: Happiness

Draw happiness The Indecisive Eejit says with Part 5 of the Cartoon Craziness Challenge so I thought hell why not? It can’t be that hard, right? Wrong! I’m no artist. My cartoon skills never really left the classroom unless it involves The Simpsons characters which I’m weirdly good at. I owe that skill to Father Briody’s Physics lessons and my complete lack of interest in anything sciency.

This weeks topic ‘Happiness’. My first thought was Sheryl Crow screeching at the top of her lungs “If it makes you  haaaaapppyy – it can’t be that ba-a-a-ad”. After a minute of really really terrible moment of karaoke I looked back upon the blank piece of paper, sharpie in hand and thought: “What is happiness for me?”

It is Chai Latte on Monday morning (bottom left hand corner).

It is the oh-so-predictable sun, sea and sand where one can escape life and drift into other literary realms.

It is writing in my journal while the world floats by (note the mini sailing boat as a symbolic representation of life passing me by).

It is taking snapshots of the world with my iPad mini more commonly known in my mind as ‘window to the world’. It’s a pathetic name, I know, I’m working on it.

This is the real happiness though – creating something out of nothing – even if it’s not much to look at!
